The Sunniest Shower

My bridal shower photos are HERE and they are bringing back all the warmest feels from that gorgeous fall day in mid-October!

A little backstory… my mom’s best friend from college, Cindy, generously offered to throw me a bridal shower at her beach club in Connecticut. She’s been my mom’s best friend since they were in college, so I’ve known her since I was born and even went wedding dress shopping with her and my mom when I was a baby and Cindy was getting married. So this was truly a full circle moment. 😊

We decided to have the bridal shower about halfway through when I had my bachelorette and when we’re having the wedding, to help space things out, and I think the timing was perfect. We also lucked out with the most stunning, warm fall day EVER.

For the sake of not having this post be 100 photos, I tried to focus on the ones that entail the decor, games, and my outfit for the shower, though I have the sweetest photos with so many of our guests too. We invited my bridesmaids, my godmother, Johnny’s mom, and all of the women I’m close with who will be attending the wedding too! We took the train in from NYC and it ended up working out really great, because everyone could catch the train back to the city whenever wanted after the shower (there was a late night crew, as expected 😂).

The whole shower was SO well thought out by my mom, Cindy, and their friends, and it ended up being such a hysterical, lively, and special day. I never knew a bridal shower could be so much fun?!!

Outline of the Shower

The shower’s theme was “stock the bar” so it was only right that we started out with cocktails (the pink ‘AmyTini’ 😉) and mingled by the bar in the main dining room. We then played the first game of the shower, where we each got a famous bride throughout history (like Princess Diana, Jackie Kennedy, Beyoncé, etc.) pinned to the back of us and had to play 20 questions to guess who we had. It was too good 😂

Then we moved into a room that they had so beautifully set up with block print tablecloths, pink napkins, vibrant florals (that my mom arranged herself!), a buffet of fresh salad and seafood, and a coconut and a carrot cake that my mom also made. It all overlooked the water and was just so sun-drenched and magical.

We enjoyed lunch while doing a crossword puzzle featuring my relationship with Johnny 😂 and then I opened some gifts while the guests played Bingo based on the gifts I received. Since it was a “stock the bar” themed party, all of the gifts were either alcohol-related (lol) or fun accessories and items for our bar cart and for entertaining. My mom also made sure to have the most adorable bar-themed prizes for the winners of the games too, as if our group wasn’t competitive enough!

The plan for the final activity was to Zoom in Johnny to play a couple’s game, so we set up the computer to do so, just as he walked into the room and fully surprised me. I truly was floored because I did NOT expect him to come out to Connecticut for the end of the shower, and thought he had plans that afternoon anyway. Turns out he had been planning on attending the whole time, and I am much more oblivious than I think!

After I settled down (me, dramatic??), we played a game where we both were asked a question about ourselves and had to write down what we think each other would say on a whiteboard, and then show the group to see if we had the same answers. We were scream-laughing the entire time.

The shower ended with us all getting another round of ‘AmyTinis’ and then continuing the party at Cindy’s house. The last ones standing were there until nearly midnight, and then we Ubered back to the city after what had turned into a 12 hour long shower. 😂

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who made it such a memorable, high energy, lovely day that celebrated this stage of my life and made me all the more thankful that I have such one-of-a-kind, fabulous women surrounding and supporting Johnny and me. 💗
