All Time Favorite Hair Products

I’ve been wanting to share a follow-up post to my last Revlon vs Drybar Blow-Dryer Brush Review, which so many of you loved! I thought that the obvious next step would be to share which products I use in my hair when styling it. So this post describes the eight products that I have sitting on my shelf right now, that I’ve repurchased, swear by, and could not recommend more!

Also for a little hair reference… I talked more about my hair in my last hair-dedicated post, but as a refresh I have relatively fine hair that’s slightly wavy, not very thick, and does like to party in humidity. 😊

Hopefully that helps you decide if these products will work for you. I highly recommend trying any of them out (I believe the most expensive product here is $30) and seeing if they have the same kind of magical effect they’ve had on me! Let me walk you through each one so you can see just what I mean…

Suave Detangler:

The biggest issue with my hair being both fine and wavy is that it tangles like no other. Johnny likes to lovingly call it my “rat’s nest” 😊 so I’ll let that paint the picture for you. It’s probably the worst when I wake up, but it’s also very knotty and tangled right when I get out of the shower. That’s where this trusty detangler comes in. I spray it on my hair after it’s towel dried and then my brush can get through my hair 100x easier than it would have without it. I also prefer the kid’s version because it’s super gentle and smells like sweet apples. Who doesn’t want that?! You also can’t beat the $3 price point!!

It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product:

This leave-in spray truly lives up to its name and the cult following that’s behind it. It does it ALL in one product. It can work as a detangler (though not as well as the Suave detangler, but when I travel I leave the Suave detangler at home and just bring this!), as well as nourishing treatment, heat protection, frizz controller, and shine enhancer. If you spray a few sprays all over before you blow out your hair, you will notice such a difference in your hair’s smoothness and softness. It is also safe for colored hair and guards agains color fading or brassiness… things I need haha. It’s seriously SO good and just does it all! If you’re looking for just one product to get the most out of, then go for this.

Glamsquad The Iconic Blowout Lotion:

Ok, this is the holy grail of blowout creams. If I’m about to go out or have photos taken and need my blowout to be on point, I will run one or two pumps of this lotion through my hair, after I’ve used my detangler and brushed through it. It makes my hair smoother than any other product and also protects it to up to 450 degrees of heat! Additionally, it also helps to add some body and general ~flow~ to your hair once you blow it out, which my lob so appreciates!

Glamsquad Multitasking Oil:

This is your gal for when you’re running out the door and see a few annoying fly-aways sticking out from unwanted spots in your hair… I will just take one small pump of this multitasking oil and run it lightly through my roots and the rest of my hair to tame any frizziness and keep my hairs in place! It’s made with four essential seed oils, that are all lightweight so they don’t weigh down your hair or make it oily. It’s a must for humid weather!

Kérastase V.I.P. Texturing Hair Spray:

If you’ve ever felt that your hair was falling a little flat and you were looking for some major va-voom, this texturizing spray will be your fix. It’s the most expensive product in this roundup, and for good reason. It’s hands-down the most volume I’ve received from any product (my hair falls relatively flat, and I’ve tried many products to figure out which one works best!). Once I blow out my hair and it’s cooling, I shoot a few quick sprays of this into my roots and puff it up… instant volume. Oh, and did I mention that it smells divine?! Seriously, I have been complimented multiple times on my “smell” haha when I have this sprayed in my hair.

AVEDA Shampure Dry Shampoo

If you haven’t found a dry shampoo that does wonders for your hair yet, hear me out on this. I swear that this dry shampoo is the only way I can go days without washing my hair and get away with it. 😊  It’s composed of a light powder that I will shake over my roots and anywhere that’s oily, and it quickly absorbs the oil and visibly makes my hair look lighter and blonder as a result. It’s one of the products that I would seriously regret forgetting to pack if I was going anywhere– I grab for it whenever my hair needs a little refresh! The scent of it is really light, so I sometimes combine it with the below product as well…

Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Tapioca Dry Shampoo

When I’m on day three of not washing my hair and want to smell like a vanilla sugar cookie, I use this dry shampoo. It’s a spray version, so I would also recommend it if you’re not a fan of the dry shampoo powders. The ‘warm sugar’ scent that I use smells so so good, and is a refreshing way to clean up your hair. I will often spray this after I use the AVEDA dry shampoo so I can have an extra layer of dry shampoo and a really good scent! I also love the ‘toasted coconut’ scent as well!

Dove Micro Mist Flexible Hold Hairspray

This flexible hold hairspray is one of my “magic products” because I just cannot get over how it keeps curls/hairstyles in place without making your hair hard or crunchy! It’s honestly amazing how it can hold a style so well, but still make your hair soft and bouncy to the touch. I will spray it all over my hair when I curl it (so it’s doesn’t exactly apply to blow outs) and it will hold my curls (especially if my hair isn’t fresh out of the shower) all day long. It can also be used as a hairspray, though I just use it for the crazy body and volume it provides!
