Birthday Weekend Recap

The balloons are still going strong, but it’s back to the real world for me today after a fairytale birthday weekend. The balloons are still going strong, but it’s back to the real world for me today after a fairytale birthday weekend. My big sister and little sister form my sorority came to Long Beach Island for the weekend, and along with my two best friends from LBI, they could not have made the weekend any more perfect.
A few of the birthday weekend activities included: bike riding on our beach cruisers around town, cat napping on the beach, eating lots of cheese and crackers, soaking in the hot tub, having coffee in the morning on the front porch, getting dressed up and scavenging for body glitter, dancing around, and generally being absurd and silly at all times. I put together a little photo diary to share with you!
Lounging around on our floaty favorites– the crocodile and flamingo! They’re best friends.
Gorgeous birthday bouquets full of hydrangeas and peonies!
Bike rides through town on our way to my favorite breakfast spot, and then to do a little shopping of course:)
On the eve of my birthday, a few of my best friends and I took a limo to the Taylor Swift concert in Philadelphia. It was quite a coincidence (fate?) that she would have a concert not too far from New Jersey on the night I turned 21. I kind of think that Taylor planned it that way, but I guess we’ll never know… Either way, she has been my long time idol extraordinaire ever since I discovered her videos of her playing guitar at age 16 on Youtube when I was in middle school! We shimmied, sang, screamed (and I mean screamed), cried (maybe that was only me??), and danced our hearts out all night long. It was one of her best concerts yet and one of the best nights ever

We had delicious take out dinners in the limo, opened presents, poured champagne, and played the music way too loud. I’d say that we had a good time:)

Naturally we drank out of flamingo straws all weekend and wore as much pink as possible… here are my big and my little– two of my favorite humans to ever live. Did I mention they’re both named Elizabeth?! #Twins

Having drinks at a local beach bar the day after the concert on my birthday! There was a live band there that sang happy birthday to me and then played one of my ALL TIME favorite songs, “Amie” by the Pure Prairie League. Day made.
Cold Stone Creamery red velvet cookie dough ice cream cake… yes this exists, and yes it’s as scrumptious and delicious as it sounds! Of course we thought it would be a good idea to transport the ICE CREAM cake on a three hour drive to bring it to our beach house… the entire face of the cake melted completely off and the happy birthday writing was so illegible that it was funny. We didn’t care though, it still tasted just as yummy. I’m sitting in the hot tub eating it in this photo, which I highly recommend doing.

Special thanks to all of the fun girlies and my wonderful, over-the-top, party-planning parents who made such a fabulous birthday weekend reality! I wouldn’t have done anything differently, I was in birthday heaven.
