Helloo back-to-school shopping! (insert confetti party emoji) This is one of my favorite times of the year! There are few things I love more than getting and organizing my school supplies (so weird but so true). Pretty spiral notebooks, colorful highlighters and pens, adorable tumblers and monogrammed laptop decals… I have always and will always love school supplies. BUT, all of these snazzy supplies deserve to be stored and transported in only the best book bag. Thus, one of the biggest back-to-school purchases I make come August is always my book bag.

When looking for a high school or college book bag, I have pretty much always stuck with a tote. I believe that a tote is the perfect marriage of function meets style. (That, and I’ve always had this fear that my dress would get caught underneath my backpack and my undies would be exposed to my whole campus… anyone else??) The six that I’ve selected below are the winners of the book bag game. Since you use your book bag almost every day and it has to go with everything you are going to wear,  PLUS fit a laptop and basically your whole life, it is definitely worth the investment.

Below I’ve outlined my favorite features from each bag!

ONE
The description of this bag says “cosmopolitan appeal and functional sensibility.” I couldn’t agree more. It zippers all the way closed on the top for some extra security! Also you just can’t go wrong with Kate Spade. This is the epitome of the little black bag (that’s a thing, right?!)

TWO 
This bag definitely has a more relaxed look than some of the others. The nylon material can be easily washed down (this is great if you’re a notorious coffee spiller, like me), and the glossy trim adds a bit of sass. It’s definitely an everyday style that can easily transition into the weekend! {a version of this is on super sale here!}

THREE
This cognac beauty is the least expensive bag of the bunch and you get two bags for your money because it is REVERSIBLE. The other side is a gorgeous aqua which transitions from summer to fall and winter to spring beautifully. The good news is that this bag also comes in a black/cognac version if you just can’t decide which color you want!

FOUR 
This is the famous York Buckle Tote via the magical Tory Burch. I used this tote this past year for college and it really stood out as a phenomenal investment. The padded laptop section inside was key for transporting my beloved laptop. I have to be honest and say that one of the handles did start unraveling a bit after I had used it for a few months, but I did overly abuse the bag a lot by piling stuff in there and carrying everywhere in all types of weather. Tory Burch’s customer service was beyond amazing and told me that I could exchange the bag for something else of equal value! omg. I think I got more compliments on this bag than anything else I’ve ever owned! See me styling this beauty last summer here.

FIVE
The large Longchamp is a staple item for any girl who loves classic style and timeless accessories. It is basically one large pocket inside with one smaller pocket along the side. I would definitely suggest getting a smaller bag like this one to put miscellaneous items in so they don’t get lost in a black hole inside the bag. My favorite features? All of the rich colors it comes in, such as “slate” and “gunmetal” and the waterproof material!

SIX
The pebbled leather of this bag is just to die for. It is extremely spacious inside and can easily hold a laptop and a change of clothes. It comes in a few other stunning colors as well! I want to use this every day this fall and pair it with every flannel and cable knit sweater 🙂
