Prettiest Little Picnic

I got to see some of my best friends when I was visiting New York City this past weekend, and we were all talking about how we should do a small pre-Thanksgiving get together, before we go our separate ways for the majority of the holiday season.

Since we don’t think that a big ‘Friendsgiving’ potluck is the way to go this fall, I wanted to showcase how fun and adorable you could make a quaint little outdoor picnic with a few of your girlfriends or a date… just layer up in fleece and choose a sunny afternoon! Plus, we all know how much I’ve loved a picnic moment before in the past 😊 .

I found everything you see here for such steals at the Christmas Tree Shops! Yes— everything from the tablecloth (that I put over a blanket!), the paper and plastic plates (which were as low as $4), the coordinating napkins (they were $1!), the paper cups, the napkin-wrapped plastic silverware, the gorgeous candle centerpiece, the over-the-top glitter turkey (only $13), and the green leaf bowl, complete with the maple creme-filled cookies!! I found it all in the harvest/Thanksgiving section of the Christmas Tree Shops in Brick, NJ when I visited last week.

The only thing I didn’t get at the Christmas Tree Shops was the cherry pie (but I scooped up the pie pan at the store!). I’m definitely the one who brings the sugar/sweets to a Friendsgiving party, and would leave the savory items– like the turkey, mashed potatoes, and sides to my girlfriends who are much better cooks than I am 😊.

For this setup, I tried to pick all coordinating colors (like cranberry, forest green, and golden browns!), in all supplies that can be easily thrown away or wiped down after the picnic is over (convenience and easy clean-ups are key for picnics, I’ve found!). And putting a plastic tablecloth over a blanket made it comfortable to sit on, yet much more festive for a Friendsgiving feast. 😊

It took me about five minutes to put together and is easy enough to bring to any park, beach, or front porch! I would seriously recommend heading to your local Christmas Tree Shops and as soon as you step inside you won’t be able to miss their harvest section… grab a cart and you’ll have a full Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving picnic setup ready to go in no time. The convenience of being able to find everything I needed for this at one store was unreal, and I cannot believe how well and easily it all came together! xx

Much love to the Christmas Tree Shops for sponsoring this post– all opinions are my own. And thank you for supporting the brands that support Amy Believes in Pink!
