Adding this to my LBI Travel Guide…

You may have happened to catch this on my Instagram from the weekend, but I got to see my best friends from college for the weekend after the longest time we’ve been a part (ever!). We had a weekend full of lots of hot tub time, so many giggles, and a full diet of only carbs and champagne. 😊 It was the BEST and so needed all around.

The absolute highlight of the weekend though was our Saturday afternoon boat ride around Barnegat Bay on the ‘Relentless’ boat of LBI Luxury Charters. I connected with them over Instagram this past spring and immediately was intrigued by the concept of the new LBI-based company.

It was founded by Mike and Kara, who have lifelong experience running motorboats and sailboats along the east coast, Bahamas, and Virgin Islands. Mike actually grew up on LBI and taught sailing at my yacht club (too funny!). They started the business together and run all of the trips– and were unbelievably fun to get to know and chat with throughout our entire time on the boat!

The best part is that they’re getting married on the boat this week… you can only imagine how we asked them every single detail about that like the nosy group of gals we are 😊. We were obsessed with the concept of an intimate boat wedding!

The Details of the Trip

So as for the details of the excursion… essentially, you can book a private two hour day cruise, sunset cruise, or a half or full day charter on trip on the absolutely gorgeous luxury boat. It can hold up to a group of six people, which is perfect for small group get togethers. They’re also very affordable (for a private charter!) especially if you split it with a group of friends.

We chose to go with the two hour afternoon cruise (from 3-5 pm) and we brought our own cheese board platter and cooler full of champs and rosé! Mike and Kara had cups, flatware, bottles of water, etc. ready for us as well if we needed. We lucked out with a sunshine-filled afternoon, and it was the perfect amount of time for a cocktail cruise around the harbor and the stunning Barnegat Lighthouse.

I’ll be honest in that I don’t often make it out of my little town of Beach Haven to explore other parts of Long Beach Island, so it was so nice to drive down the island to the town of Barnegat Light and get to adventure all around the Barnegat Bay and see the lighthouse in all its glory.

We chose to go dressed for dinner for the boat ride (we went to dinner at Parker’s Garage in Beach Haven afterwards), but you can also go dressed in your swimsuits and they can anchor the boat at a sandbar so you can jump in or swim around. I don’t think you could go wrong either way!

It was truly the highlight of our weekend and such a lovely and special experience to see the beauty of LBI in such a fun way. Yachts of fun 😊 with these ladies on this beautiful boat! xx
