Okay. So I’ve held a colorful little secret for a while now, and today I am finally spilling the juice. 🙂

Lilly Pulitzer is the first brand I ever knew. As a toddler I alternated between bow-adorned shift dresses and patchwork bikinis. I grew up sleeping on the floor of the warehouse sales and searching my mom’s clothes for the famous hidden “Lilly” name (back then there was no #findtheLilly– I was just doing it myself!). Then, in high school I realized that there was a thing called the Pink Palace (their corporate headquarters) and I spent hours scouting (stalking?) out the adorable interns in complete awe. Then I got to Richmond and figured out what “digital marketing” entailed and quickly made the connection that Lilly was absolutely killing it in this realm of the fashion industry. But, of course they were.

Then, during my sophomore year at Richmond, I heard that Lilly recruiters were stopping by campus. I put on my hot pink ballet flats (which I shared in this Insta from that day, haha), gathered up all the courage I had, and went to meet them.

Now, after many, many months of pursuing it, I am so excited to say that I am a Creative Communications intern, which entails PR and social media, for Lilly Pulitzer this summer!!!!!

It definitely wasn’t easy (nothing good in life ever is!), and I honestly never thought it would happen– but it just goes to show how God works when you put in all the hard work and prayer you have in you. I once read, “blessed is she who believes that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her” and that couldn’t be truer for so many things in life. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve repeated this to myself in this case and many others. I realized that God’s plan for me is so much bigger and better than anything I can ever imagine, and so in the end when it was out of my control, I put all my faith in Him. Also, I have a serious (and quite colorful) SQUAD that always believes in me and are honestly the best cheerleaders and creative consultants a girl could ask for. And they know who they are:)

I am so BEYOND excited and thankful that I get to learn from the smartest, coolest, most colorful and creative marketing-savvy people I have ever met!! It can’t come soon enough. (patience has never been my thing– I’d rather just get to the party!! ha)

I couldn’t help but share a few of my favorite photos from my experience with Lilly so far…
