Ring Dance Weekend

Hi there! Today I’m sharing 30+ pictures from one of the most special weekends I’ve ever had:)   A little history behind this weekend: Ring Dance is a University of Richmond Westhampton College tradition. Hi there! Today I’m sharing 30+ pictures from one of the most special weekends I’ve ever had:)
A little history behind this weekend: Ring Dance is a University of Richmond Westhampton College tradition. It is a black-tie dance that celebrates the academic accomplishments of the junior women and our transition from sophomore to junior year. Each woman is introduced and her academic involvements are announced in front of her classmates, family, and friends. We then walk down the stairs of the historic Jefferson Hotel with an escort. You can also be presented with your class ring if you choose to get one!
Now I’ll take you through the weekend moment by moment because I love reliving it that much!!
Friday Night Dinner
The night before Ring Dance my girlfriends and I had a private dinner party with our families at The Boathouse restaurant. It was such an intimate and yummy way to kick off the weekend!
And so began a weekend of overeating…
You can find my dress here! It is such a good buy and is so versatile.

My side chicks:)

Fast forward to the next night…
The Suite Decorations/Getting Ready
We were lucky enough to snag one of the suites at the Jefferson, which meant that we could have the pre/post parties for our family, friends, and dates the night of Ring Dance! Of course my mom just had to have everything all dolled up. The woman knows how to throw a party, even in a hotel room!!
Some of my main ladies helping me get on a *slightly* heavy dress. (sequins weight A LOT).
It’s all in the details.
The desert bar scene (obviously the best bar in the room)
Champs from my Big!
Champagne punch, pink of course!
Our house is still covered in floral arrangements that all of our sweet friends gave us! I don’t hate it.
Family dynamics…
The Dress
So funny story. I actually found this dress at a Diane Von Furstenberg sample sale in New York City a few years ago and bought it on a whim. Because why wouldn’t I want a halter backless all-sequin ball gown?? Turns out that after cutting off a four foot train from the bottom it ended up being the Ring Dance dress of my dreams.. take a look!

My People
One of my best friends and fellow Theta sister from UVA came to Richmond for the weekend to party it up and keep us sane! Love you Kel.
Little + Big. Love them to death!

When she tries to pick me up and my dress weighs like 50lbs…
I love a man in a bow tie:)
All my people in one place…
The Walk
My dad was of course a natural walking me down the stairs! He couldn’t have been a more supportive (and dashing) escort!
The Party
If there’s one thing my friends and family are good at, it’s celebrating!! We spent so much time dancing and hanging out in the suite and then went downstairs to the ballrooms for the DJ and live band!
My party people.

My whole Theta fam!! Loved having the alumni back to visit!!
My bestest friends and the prettiest, smartest, funniest girls I know.

The night progressed with changing out of heels and into Converse, taking crazy elevator rides throughout the hotel, and eating grilled cheese room service in bed. The whole day honestly could not have gone any better and it will go down as one of the best days of my life.
BIG shout out to my phenomenal, amazing, supportive parents, godmother, sister, boyfriend, and girlfriends for making it a sparkling, magical, unforgettable night. My heart was so full and I will always look back on this weekend with such wonderful memories!
