Study Break!

It’s that time of year– first semester midterms. If you’re anything like me, then you’ve been holing yourself up in the library, most likely wearing a sweatshirt that needs to be washed and contacts that begin to suction themselves to your eyes from staring at your computer screen for too long… if this is you, then I’d say it’s time to put down your third cup of caffeine and take a brief study…

Frist of all, this quote has been following me around lately as I have been trying to simplify this semester and only focus on the the things that really matter, one at a time. This is a new concept to me, being a busy bee who thrives on multi-tasking and a packed agenda. But after cutting down a bit, I am happy to say that I am refreshed and all around happier and less anxious. There are times for crazy busy days and checking off to-do lists and cramming for exams, but there are also times for laying on the floor (in my case, that would be our shag rug..) with your girlfriends and doing absolutely nothing besides eating sushi and looking at Lauren Conrad’s wedding pictures. Remember this as you freak out during midterms. There is sushi and wedding pics at the end of the tunnel.

That being said, take a look at some of the lighter things that have been on my radar!

I’ve listened to this playlist over and over again. There’s something about country music in the fall that I love!

Apparently, my roommate and I still can’t get over this little boy on Ellen…

Currently drooling over this hot pink Tory Burch York Buckle Tote (I have it in the “luggage” color and use it as my book bag!) in which 20% of the proceeds goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Today is also the last day to get 25% off Tory Burch with the code FRIENDLIEST.

I have to keep up with the news for my journalism class this semester, therefore I’ve been relying on The Skimm for an overview of current events. It’s so helpful and funny too!

Not going to lie, I want to be just like Taylor Sterling of The Glitter Guide when I am a mom. Her baby daughter, Elodie, might be the most precious thing I have ever seen.

Speaking of glitter, I just bought another Urban Decay Heavy Metal glitter eyeliner, this one in “beige” (I have the silver as well.) It is my all time favorite party eyeliner, and naturally I will take any excuse to put glitter all over myself.

I have been following @TeamBossBabe on Instagram for a daily dose of inspiration. It is hysterical, but reminds you to keep your head high and be fierce!

Also, it’s my mom’s and dog’s birthdays! (yes, they actually have the same birthday) Take a look at my Instagram to see the picture I posted of the beautiful pair! Love them.

I hope this Monday doesn’t overwhelm, exhaust, or defeat you. But at the end of the day, there is no better feeling than having hustled and gotten a lot done and knowing that you are enough. Give yourself a break and go have an ice cream cone and/or cupcake (I know that I did this weekend…)
