The April Edit
The season of blue and white coastal chicness is upon us! Next month we have Memorial Day weekend, which officially kicks off my weekends in Long Beach Island, NJ, and I’ll also be spending a lot of time in Maine as well this summer (my parents recently bought and renovated a lake house there).
Of course time by the water calls for ocean and lake hues, like the beautiful, calming blues you’ll find in this edit. They also remind me of newly blooming hydrangeas and crisp springtime skies… it’s a color that looks gorgeous on everyone!
Enjoy this roundup of summery dresses, bags for long weekends, and a few options for tumblers that you can use to walk down to the dock with a cocktail in hand. It’s the perfect blend of springtime meets summer! xx
Standout Items…
Block Print Cosmetic Cases—
I never can get over the fact that you get both of these cosmetic cases for $36!! I have them and just love the simple blue and white block print pattern (they look much more expensive than they are). They come in a set of two sizes– a large and a smaller one, and they can easily fit all of my mini toiletries and makeup for a long weekend trip. They’re also fully lined, so you can wipe them down, and have a few little pockets as well! They’re such an awesome value and would make a really cute gift too (I just ordered the pink and green version for Deb for Mother’s Day!).
Anti-Aging Night Routine Set—
Ok, I’ve talked about the Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment a lot before (especially in my nighttime skincare routine post) and it’s seriously one of the only products that I’ve seen that instantly improves my skin. It’s been rumored to plump fine lines and even out your skin in a matter of minutes, and I completely believe it! This set includes that serum, along with a few other clinically-backed Sunday Riley items that I’ve been dying to try out– their cleanser, ‘pink drink’ firming resurfacing essence, retinol night oil, retinol serum, and brightening enzyme water cream. You get ALL of that in this set for only $93 (and it’s a $193 value!!). The aim of all of the products is to target fine lines and winkles and improve the firmness of your skin!
Pan—
This pan is worth ALL of the hype that it receives. Johnny and I got it in this ‘blue salt’ shade over the holidays (because God forbid we have a pan that doesn’t match the interior of our apartment) and it’s been his favorite thing to use for cooking ever since (ok, besides his beloved Instant Pot). It’s a rather big nontoxic and non-stick pan that is supposed to be useful enough to replace all of your other pans, and we’ve proved this theory! It’s deep enough to cook pasta in but also big enough for omelets for two. It also comes with its own wooden spatula and colander for draining. I have even cooked with it (and if you know me well then you know that’s a big deal) and the nonstick quality of it is my favorite part! Definitely worth the splurge– but there are always a ton of discount codes from bloggers floating around for it, so I’d find one of those before purchasing!
‘Recess’ Drink—
The other day Johnny told me that I should reach out to Recess because I’m such an avid customer of theirs… this is my new favorite ‘cocktail replacement’ drink that I like to have on week nights when I’m not drinking. Each can only has 25 calories or less, but they still pack a LOT of flavor (my favorite is the ‘coconut lime’ which is pictured here!). They’re infused with hemp extract and adaptogens, which give me a kind of calm/zen feeling (like a much lighter version of the feeling I get from CBD), but make an awesome substitute for a glass of wine or a cocktail. I highly recommend ordering the variety pack and testing them out! They’re expensive, but feel like a treat to me so I think they’re worth the splurge.
Striped Smocked Top—
Ah this top just screams summer!! I would wear it with high waisted wide-leg white jeans and a pair of Tretorn sneakers for a casual look for grabbing brunch or going on a boat ride. J. Crew really does blue and white stripes like no other– so you know you’re going to get the best from them in this category. I usually size down in their styles, but since this is a bit cropped I would go with my normal size!
