TBT: Graduation Tea Party!

Hi everyone! It’s a dreary Thursday today so I decided to look through some of my old pictures, back to the beginning of summer when it was sunny and hot outside (sigh..). What else is there to do on #TBT anyway??
So I came across these gorgeous photos that my dad and sister took during my joint high school graduation party with my friend Maddie. Naturally, we decided to have an afternoon tea party and we invited all of our friends and their mommas.
The party was held in my neighbor’s backyard. Her gardening is stunning! (my backyard was not an option due to Liberty’s hole digging craze)
We gave out sugar scrubs as our party favor! We hand made them with raw sugar, lemon juice, & coconut. We put pink & green food dye in them so they matched our color scheme (of course). The scrubs are in plastic mason jars we found at Target– the lids are adorned with flowers we made of felt and sparkly jewels. The scrubs smelled delicious & made your skin feel so soft. Here’s a good recipe if you want to try it out!
THE FOOD. Cupcakes, mini tomato & mozzarella sandwiches, coconut chicken, caesar salad wraps… could there be anything better? Catering was done by Brennan’s Delicatessen. Delicious!
What’s a tea party without chevron paper straws, cute little mints, rock candy, and monogrammed napkins?! That’s Maddie’s monogram– my godmother got them made for us. They were almost too precious to use!
Some more pretty details– lemon bars, tea (even though it was about 100 degrees outside, we still had tea!) & pearls in all of the flowers. We HAD to have the macaroons because #1, they’re my favorite and #2 they reminded us of when Maddie and I went to Paris with our moms when we turned 13!!
All of our friends dressed classy and preppy. The invitation read: “Wear your pearls and join the girls, in celebration of our graduation!” Therefore, there was a lot of Lilly, Jack Rogers, and even white gloves! How cute is this Kate Spade “turf” bag that one of my mom’s friends brought?!
Oh, & Maddie did her own hair– it was beautiful!
The tea party was the perfect way to end our senior year & kickstart a sunshine-filled & happy summer. After all, it was just the excuse we were looking for to get out our pearls, pink lipstick, & Lilly sundresses…
