Petite-Friendly Jeans

I am here to say that it *is* possible to find some flattering and rather inexpensive straight and wide leg jeans as a shorter gal!! Skinny jeans have always been easier for me to find, since I can cuff them to adjust to my height, but it’s been straight and flare jeans that have been much harder to discover the gems.

So after lots of orders and returns, I’m so excited to share that these five are definitely keepers!! They are comfortable, versatile, and fall at the perfect length on my 5’1″ height. I included my sizing recommendations below, and want to note that some include regular and tall lengths as well– for those of you lucky enough to have legs longer than mine. 😊

My Thoughts: These are the softest jeans of all of the ones featured in this post, and I really love the lighter wash. They’re definitely the most ‘relaxed’ looking jeans here and look so awesome with literally just about any top– from a casual crewneck sweatshirt to a nicer sweater! The high rise waist is another bonus. They come in nine colors so even if you have a pair similar to these, I’d recommend trying out another wash!

Abercrombie Ultra High-Rise Kick Flare Jeans—

Price: On SALE for $30

Fit: Wearing my normal size in the ‘short’ length

Color: ‘Washed Black’

My Thoughts: I would definitely scoop these up to have on hand for next fall (don’t hate me for saying the ‘f word’ at the start of June ok, I promise these are worth me bringing it up). But they’re seriously SO good and will most likely be my most worn jeans here because they’re the ultimate weekend jeans (you can wear them going out, for brunch, etc.). I especially love that they’re ultra high rise so you can wear a crop top with them without worrying about your belly button hanging out (I’m 27 now, I don’t have that luxury anymore) and they’re 99% cotton so they’re soft but not too stretchy!

Abercrombie Curve Love High Rise Mom Jeans—

My Thoughts: I can already tell you that these will be my most worn white jeans this summer!! They’re another pair of high rise mom jeans (like the first pair in this post), but these are designed with Abercrombie’s signature ‘Curve Love’ shape to hug your bod in all the right places. Similar to the black jeans above (which are also from Abercrombie), they’re 99% cotton so they are soft but don’t stretch out. I highly, highly recommend these if you’re looking for a straight leg jean that also makes your booty pop!! How cute would they be with a puff sleeve smocked top?!

My Thoughts: Ok, not to play favorites but these could very well be my favorite pair of the group. They’re another one of Abercrombie’s signature ‘Curve Love’ designs that conforms to your body and doesn’t leave a gap around your waist (no need for a belt!). They’re also ultra high rise so you can suck your whole lower belly into them (love that for us) and feel snug but comfortable. I’d wear them with booties, sneakers, or sandals– they are extremely versatile. 

Spanx Cropped Flare Jeans— 

Price: On SALE for $90

Fit: I didn’t size up one size but I should have!

Color: ‘White’

My Thoughts: These are like if your favorite pair of shapewear undies and your favorite white jeans had a baby. They’re unbelievably smoothing and suck you in like nothing else can do (that’s the magic of Spanx!). They literally have Spanx built into the top of them, which they call their ‘no-show Gut Check technology,’ which conceals any muffin top situation and firms up your booty too! It’s unreal– and the best part is that they’re pull-on, so you don’t have to fuss with buttons (which also always seem to dig into my stomach when I’m enjoying a long dinner). I haven’t seen them restock these in a while, so I would scoop them up now if you’re interested!
