Be Mine: Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day!!! I am so happy because today it is totally appropriate to go all out with hearts, cards, candy, and pink! So I wanted to share some of my Valentine treats, dorm decorations, and the celebration that my friends and I had!  This is the “potted heart” that stands on the windowsill…

Happy Valentine’s Day!!! I am so happy because today it is totally appropriate to go all out with hearts, cards, candy, and pink! So I wanted to share some of my Valentine treats, dorm decorations, and the celebration that my friends and I had!

This is the “potted heart” that stands on the windowsill of our dorm. The heart is full of feathers and the pot is all pink glitter. Doesn’t it look like something out of a Dr. Suess book?

Here is the wreath that my mom sent me for the door of my dorm room. I think she got it at HomeGoods. The box is full of hot pink tissue paper that led to this…

Needless to say, my mom got a little carried away with the Valentine’s gifts in this “love box!” It includes:

two different heart wreaths (one lights up!)

a “Be Mine” banner
black C. Wonder flats with hearts on them
a red and white gingham robe
heart cocktail napkins (you don’t know how many cocktail napkins I have in my dorm from her… like when am I supposed to use them?!!)
pink and black polka dot tights
wooden signs that say “Love You More” and “p.s. I love you!”

And then a couple of days later I get ANOTHER package from her with this coffee mug and candy (along with a pink cashmere sweater not pictured, but I absolutely love):

Here are some of our dorm decorations:

top left: the card my mom sent me– the dress is covered with glitter

bottom left: the “Love You More” wooden sign
top right: the Dr. Seuss looking feather heart in a pot
bottom right: heart shaped chocolates and an InStyle magazine that my roommate put out! (she’s the cutest)

This is what our door looks like from the outside:

The garland can be purchased from Target. The kite is for Kappa Alpha Theta and the three triangles are for my roommate who is in TriDelt!

My mom also sent me these macaroons from a local market in my home town. They were so tasty and I shared them with a few of my friends who had never tried them before!! I was like, What have you been doing with your lives?!

This is my latest nail color: hot pink (surprise) and a gold glitter heart because gold is one of Theta’s colors. I found the idea on Pinterest, of course.

Two days ago we had a snow day, so we had a Valentine’s Day themed celebration in our dorm! We ate the candy that our bigs have given us, sipped drinks out of heart and striped straws, and listened to “XO” by Beyonce on repeat…

Look at us using the cocktail napkins!! Whoo! My mom will be proud…

Here are some of my best friends… they’re adorable, I know. It was kind of like our own “Galentine’s Day” party– anyone watch Parks and Recreation?!

I couldn’t help but share this sign I saw outside of the Pink Palm store in Richmond:

“Dear hubs, instead of roses for Valentine’s, I’ll take Lillys”

I mean, how funny is that?!

I hope that you too have a Valentine’s Day full of red heart cocktail napkins, tasty macaroons, and glittery decorations! Let me know how you celebrated!
