Interested in learning about the concept behind these Cocktail Hour posts? Take a look at the first Cocktail Hour I did— it explains them well! Also, I wrote a whole post on everything that I wore in Charleston— so take a look at that if you want more spring style feels!

Cocktail of the Week:

On Saturday night I had dinner with two of my best friends + Johnny (they honestly wanted to catch up with him… maybe even more than with me?! ha). We went to Street Taco in NYC and it was such yummy, laid-back Mexican food. I had two watermelon margs that were beyond light and refreshing. I am not usually a marg kind of gal, but one of my friends recommended it and they ended up being the star of the meal! Cinco de Mayo inspo anyone?!

Life Updates:

Since my last life update, I spent two weekends ago in Kiawah/Charleston with my blogging girlfriend, Rhiana of Wear Bows and Smile, had a chill weekend in Philly with Johnny and my roomies, and then spent this past weekend in both Philly and NYC. I got to visit with my parents as well and see where we will be living next (!!!). I have been doing a little spring cleaning + shopping, and officially switched over my closet to all of my spring and summer clothes which feels SO right. I picked up this green faux plant for my bedside dresser and am in love with the updated tropical vibes it brings that corner of my room.

Pit & Peak the Week:

I’m going to combine my pit and peak this week because they’re related. There have been some changes at work that have been bittersweet, but they now mean that I now have the opportunity to do a lot more, and learning about those opportunities the past two weeks has been such a peak! It’s so amazing how being sad and missing people when they move on to other things can bring new opportunity and a fresh outlook at the same time. Sometimes work can feel like your whole entire life, but I’ve been learning to take a step back and really try to view the bigger picture. Overall, I have been really work focused lately and am excited for things to settle down so I can find a better balance between my work/blog (and and personal! ha) life. I’ve been really trying to share more of that and be more open and honest about working fulltime now and what it’s been like, so I hope that’s been coming across in my posts!

Other peaks? Booking really fun summer trips… stay tuned for both city and coastal adventures throughout May and June. 🙂

Wellness Tidbit of the Week:

I’ve been moisturizing with this moisturizing cool gel cream at night and have found it to calm down any redness in my face and make it baby soft. It is especially amazing to use on your face after you’ve been in the sun all day. It’s such an investment product, but really worth it! It would also make a really special Mother’s Day gift.

Favorite Thing Seen on the Internet This Week:

Oprah’s SuperSoul conversation with Amy Schumer. I am obsessed with how they both talk about being introverts and I can relate to that SO well. It’s such a great listen for your next workout or long car ride.

Best Deal of the Week:

This $34 Urban Outfitters mini canvas bucket bag . I saw it in the window of Urban and about 3 minutes passed until I had paid for it and was walking out with it, ha. Also, I saw Sydney Carver of the blog Summer Wind share these $18 raffia loafers and I simply couldn’t pass them up. They come in a darling white + blue stripe as well! Both of these are such scores and I will enjoy them all summer long.

IBIP Obsession of the Week:

I’m going to *need* these palm embroidered espadrilles to go with just about everything I own. I’m obsessed with these gold metallic ruffled wedges as well.

Your Favorite Item Seen on IBIP This Week:

You have been loving this blue + white stripe tee shirt, called the “Island Girl Tee.” It’s more like a combination between a tee shirt and a sweater. I ordered the XS and probably should have sized up to a S to that it would have a little more of an oversized fit. It’s so perfect for Memorial Day weekend to throw over a bathingsuit when you’re out on the water or wear with cutoff shorts when you’re riding bikes around town. You also loved this grey scalloped tank top! It’s so perfect for going out this spring. Pair it will blush pink accessories. 🙂
