My college girlfriends and I had our first official *post-grad* reunion in Charleston in June! We have always wanted to go to Charleston together, and since we were all living in various places at the moment, we thought it would be the most fair if we all had to travel and meet up in one location. Thinking about where we could find some of the best food, shopping, and history in the country… Charleston it was! Take a look at where we stayed, what we did, and where we ate below.

WHERE WE STAYED
After a lot of research and asking around, we decided on this VRBO house, which was located about two blocks off of King’s Street. It was PERFECT for a group of girls (there were six of us) and it honestly could have accommodated up to ten. There was plenty of room for all of our necessities– i.e. straightener plugs, makeup mirrors, plenty of towels, and a big living room and front porch for cocktail hours, ha. We really had no complaints and the owner was very helpful to us throughout our entire stay.
WHAT WE DID
Unfortunately throughout the few days we were in Charleston it pretty much rained non-stop. Like it down-poured. But, we did everything we could to get through our Charleston Bucket List 😉
After touring Boone Hall, we had lunch in Old Village Mount Pleasant and went into a few of the little boutiques there. If you’re interested in the suburban part, right outside of Charleston, then this is a darling little area to check out!
This marketplace offered a variety of crafty venders and some yummy local food options. It wasn’t the *best* shopping, but was a nice place to walk around in the morning with a cup of coffee.

One of the most photogenic spots in the city… there are dozens of preserved historic houses all lined up in a candy colored row, displaying quintessential Charleston charm. We walked down ‘Rainbow Row’ and wandered into the little cobblestone side streets as well which were brimming with the cutest little homes.
Alongside the waterfront was this gorgeous pineapple fountain that makes for an adorable photo op and pit stop to sit down and admire the water.

The boutique shopping in Charleston is truly an experience in itself. You can spend entire DAYS walking up and down King’s Street and the side streets off of it, window shopping and popping into stores. A few of our favorites included (but we’re definitely not limited to) Cannonborough Collective, Moon and Lola, Roberta Roller Rabbit, Skinny Dip Charleston, Blush Label, V2V, Sapphire, Bevello…
How colorful and fun is Moon and Lola?!

Any boutique that also serves rosé knows the way to my HEART. (i.e. Skinny Dip Charleston)
WHERE WE ATE
We had our first dinner of the trip here and we’re shocked with how small the restaurant is! We were lucky we made our reservation ahead of time and were seated at a little high top table. We ate delicious fish tacos and chips and guac. It wasn’t the best meal of the entire trip I would say, but a cute place nonetheless!
Make this a priority pit stop in one of your mornings or afternoons in Charleston. It’s an adorable little bakery with a phenomenal cupcake and pastry selection and gourmet coffees. A major sugar and caffeine high. 🤗
To offset the cupcakes that we got from the Sugar Bakeshop, we picked up green juices from here (the one on Cannon Street, which is a short walk from Sugar Bakeshop). This would be a great spot to stop and have a juice if you’re out on a run in the area!
This is where we ate when we visited the Old Village– it was adorable and beyond yummy. Definitely the perfect spot to stop for a quick salad, sandwich, and iced tea!
We had a drink on this rooftop before our dinner at Magnolia’s and it was a great place to sit and chat with each other, even in the rain. It has plenty of room for bigger parties too so we didn’t feel bad being loud or laughing a lot!

This was our BEST dinner by far in Charleston. True southern comfort food in a chic and warm atmosphere. Definitely get the fried chicken and a fancy cocktail! One of the best combinations there is…
This brunch spot came highly recommended and it did NOT disappoint. You honestly can’t go wrong ordering a single thing on the menu and the Deep Eddy’s cocktails were on POINT. It’s also located right across from The Mills House, which is a picturesque pink hotel, so it makes for a great photo op and a pretty place to sit on the outside porch and have a late breakfast with your girlfriends!
I think I’ll paint my house this same shade of pink… thoughts??
We had my birthday dinner here and it was such a cozy spot. I got the lobster roll and brussel sprouts and they were phenomenal. Such a swanky place for celebrations and girls’ nights! It was also about a five minute walk from our VRBO which was a plus as well.
On our last day we walked to this tiny breakfast place to get biscuits to go. The biscuits warmed you down to the core and were a perfect goodbye to Charleston. Definitely a must-eat if you’re a biscuit lover!
Charleston was the ideal spot to have our first girlfriend reunion and I’m already plotting my return, hopefully during a sunnier time! Let me know if you have any questions at all in the comments and I’d be more than happy to answer them! xx
