If you’ve ever stayed over with the Littleson’s, then you’ve experienced one of my mom’s magical beds 😂. She has always had a knack for putting together the most comfortable, cozy, marshmallow-fluffy beds. Even in my small dorm room beds in college (see my ultimate dorm room guide here), my bed has always felt unbelievably luxurious and calming. 

Over the years I’ve noted the specific tips and items that my mom uses to make the world’s most comfortable bed, and I’ve implemented them all into the bed we have in our apartment now. 

I finally got to photograph and break everything down for you in this post. It’s a pretty simple process, and you can always work with what you already have and add in a mattress pad or duvet  insert here and there to adjust it as you’d like. Beds are so personal, so take our suggestions and adjust them based on how squishy and padded you prefer your bed! 

Below are the steps (and products!) we recommend for making your dream cloud-like happy place!

STEP 1: Put on any mattress cover and then this mattress topper on top of that.

STEP 2: Add this padded mattress cover to go over those two layers and hold them together.

STEP 3: Put these two duvet inserts inside a duvet. I use these duvet clips to pin the two duvets together and to the duvet cover so that they don’t slip down inside the duvet.
