Spring Break: Paradise in the Dominican

Soo happy that it’s finally spring! It’s gorgeous out today and the campus is finally showing signs of spring! In honor of these sunny first days of spring, I am sharing the spring break trip my girlfriends and I took to the Dominican Republic!!  We sunbathed, we ate, we swam… and we ate even more (what bikini body??). It was honestly one of the most fun times I’ve ever had!…

It was honestly one of the most fun times I’ve ever had! The pictures speak for themselves… so I just HAD to include all of them to share!

Arriving at the Airport in Washington D.C. at 3:30 in the morning. Yes, that’s my suitcase. One of my crazy talents is being able to successfully pack a 49.8 pound suitcase– in my defense there is a Lilly Pulitzer cooler in there plus about eight pairs of shoes (oops).

We stayed at my friend’s grandfather’s villa at Casa de Campo. We arrived in the afternoon and it took me about 30 seconds to get from the beach into the ocean. There’s nothing I love more than white sand and turquoise water! It was my ultimate happy place.

Some gorgeous scenery from Casa de Campo: the resort pool and lounge chairs, the Marina’s outside restaurants, the entrance into our villa, and the view from my pink raft in the ocean.

And of course what it looked like from my lounge chair at the stunningly beautiful beach!

The resort on the compound has a stunning pool and swim up bar. We indulged in fruity tropical drinks while sitting in the pool! So refreshing on the 85 degree days.

We also did two of my absolute FAVORITE things: sailing and shopping. Four of us took out a hobie cat and sailed all around the harbor. We went into a little cove to check out the obscenely huge and amazing ocean-front mansions, complete with their own private beaches– we even saw where the Kardashians stayed in a few of their episodes!

The compound’s cutest store was Carmen Sol. It carried designer bags, clothing and accessories, all in bright/beachy patterns and colors. That’s me looking into one of the stores while it was closed– do I have a shopping problem yet??

On one of the days, we drove our golf cart to a polo match. Yes, this was my first ever Polo match, and as you can see, I was a bit excited (the players were on the other side of the field at the moment). I may or may not have been looking for my future polo-playing European royal husband… however the closest I got finding him was this horse they were about to substitute into the game.

Palm trees, ocean hugs, and pink bungalows.
The Dominican had all of my favorite things, and I was beyond lucky to have experienced it all!

My gorgeous (and hysterical) friends one night before we went out to dinner. I’ve never laughed so hard as I did when we were hanging out during this vacation! We loved every minute of it.

My favorite picture from the trip– this encapsulates the vibrant yet serene atmosphere of Casa de Campo and the many relaxing days we spent! It was definitely a much needed getaway.

Let us know what you did for Spring Break! Whether it was sunshine or snow-filled, I hope the warmth of spring is coming your way! Be sure to check out the post “Spring Break Essentials” for everything we brought with us!
