Why is your blog named “Amy Believes in Pink”?
I founded this blog in 2013, when I was on fall break my freshman year of college. This Audrey Hepburn quote was my favorite quote at the time (still is ????) and it seemed to encompass all of the attributes and positive energy that I dreamed of having in this blog! You’ll find it included in the footer of my site too.
“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”
~ Audrey Hepburn
Where did you go to college?
The University of Richmond in Virginia, which I absolutely loved. It has the most welcoming and stimulating community of people who are both motivated and fun. It was hands-down the best four years of my life ????.
When I was there I created my own major, Integrated Marketing and Communications (which included Marketing, Journalism, and Rhetoric and Communications courses) and minored in Leadership Studies at Richmond’s Jepson School of Leadership. I’ve written numerous posts about my college experience and graduation, including my “Letter to the College Undergrad,” “How to Start off the School Year on a Positive Note,” “Graduation Photos with My Best Friends,” “Graduation Party with My Best Friends,” and “Graduation Weekend Recap.”
In May of 2020 we celebrated my little sister’s college graduation at home in Vero Beach, FL (due to COVID-19 cancelling her graduation), which you can see in my “Jacqueline’s At-Home Graduation” post. I included all of my best graduation gift ideas in my “Graduation Gift Ideas” post as well!
Where do you live now?
After I graduated college, I started out living in Philadelphia for almost three years, while I worked on Lilly Pulitzer’s marketing team (their corporate headquarters is based right outside of Philadelphia). See my “Philadelphia Travel Guide” for all of my Philly recommendations! Then COVID-19 hit and I went to live at my parent’s home in Vero Beach, FL for the spring of 2020. Now, I am still in limbo due to COVID, and am currently living at my parent’s home on Long Beach Island, NJ for the summer, and plan to move to a city with my boyfriend (which I’ll be sharing very soon!) in the fall of 2020, as soon as my boyfriend will be working back in an office.
I will always divide my time between Vero Beach and Long Beach Island, and have written travel guides for both. See my “Vero Beach Travel Guide” and “LBI Travel Guide” for all of my best recommendations on where to stay, eat, and what to do!
Do you have any tips for landing your dream job?
Yes ????. I full-heartedly believe that everyone can figure out and land their dream job if they differentiate themselves from the rest of the crowd, work really hard to prove their enthusiasm for the brand or company, and put a whole lot of trust in God. I shared my tips for landing your dream internship in my “How to Land Your Dream Internship” post, as well as my tips for landing your dream post-grad job in my “Job Application & Interview Tips for the Post-Grad” post.
Do you blog full time?
I do! I went full time with it in the spring of 2020, after I had been working on the marketing team (specifically in influencer marketing) for Lilly Pulitzer for almost three years, and blogging on the side. I talk all about my decision to go full time in my post “My New Job” and answer all of my most frequently asked questions about blogging as my job in the post “My New Job Q&A.” I also do some freelance influencer marketing consulting, to help brands build their influencer marketing strategies and work with influencers.
It’s been the biggest dream come true and most wonderful blessing to be able to work for myself! I am still in awe every day of how God has worked in my life so that this is all able to happen. I don’t ever take it for granted and am so beyond thankful to all of my readers and followers!
Do you do consulting for influencers as well?
At this time I do not, I only consult with brands on any of their influencer marketing, social media, and branding needs. You can learn more about the consulting services I offer, and reach out to me to schedule a free intro call, on my “Influencer Marketing Consulting” page.
Do you have any advice on starting a blog?
Definitely! One of my favorite parts of blogging is getting to share my experience with other bloggers and support them. I have a bunch of beginner tips, which I wrote about in detail in my “7 Steps for Starting a Blog” post. But my major piece of advice is that consistency and authenticity are two of the biggest keys to a successful blog. Be consistent with your posts so your followers can know when to look for new content and create authentic, original content that is engaging and fun to read!
I always joke that I’m the same person I am on this blog as I am when you meet me in real life ????, and really try to keep it as real as possible, so you know what you’re getting from me, both online and off! Also, once you’ve started a blog, definitely take a look at my “7 Steps for Growing a Blog” post for additional tips.
What camera do you use?
What apps/programs do you use to edit your photos?
For my blog photos I use Adobe’s Lightroom, and you can find a great tutorial on editing with it here. For iPhone photos I use Camera+, Snapseed, and VSCO (all of which you can download in the app store!).
How can I shop your Instagram photos?
How do you make money on your blog?
I make money through a variety of ways, such as sponsored posts, affiliate programs, and affiliate links. If an item was gifted to me then it will be disclosed with a c/o (for ‘courtesy of’) in the “Outfit Details” part of my blog post. If any post is sponsored it will be disclosed at the bottom of the blog post or with a #sponsored or #partner on my Instagram posts or Instagram stories.
If you click on various links throughout my site and social channels, I may be making a commission based off of that click or purchase. It’s of the utmost importance to me that every brand I work with is true to my personal style and taste, therefore I am extremely selective with my collaborations and affiliate partners.
Can we collaborate/work together?
Yes and yes! I love working with like-minded creative and business-oriented companies who are are not afraid to push the boundaries and come up with dynamic collaborations. If you are interested then shoot me an email at email@example.com. That’s hands-down the best way to get in touch with me, and I like to think that I’m rather quick at getting back to inquiries!
I Believe in Pink is a part of several affiliate networks and advertising programs. This means that if you click and/or make a purchase through certain links on this site or any other related social media platform (including Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and Tumblr), I may make a commission from the click and/or purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases as well. I disclose all of my gifted items with c/o and disclose all of my sponsored content at the bottom of each blog post or with #sponsored or #partner on my Instagram posts. All opinions are my own.
