How fun is it that this is my TENTH Cocktail Hour post?! I’m so happy that you enjoy reading these and seeing a breakdown of my life and all of my trending obsessions. Thank you so much for stopping by this one! I’m so happy to have you here.
Interested in learning about the concept behind these Cocktail Hour posts? Take a look at the first Cocktail Hour I did— it explains them well!
Cocktail of the Week:
I had such a fun opportunity to try out Mexicue in NYC this past weekend with Johnny, his older brother, Peter, and Peter’s girlfriend, Niki. I had the grapefruit marg and it had such pizazz! I almost never get margaritas (not a huge tequila person), but since I was eating *delicious* mexican food, I decided to go for it. Definitely stop into Mexicue at one point if you cant (they have four locations in NYC & CT), and try the queso & mac and cheese… omg I’m addicted to cheese I think.
Life Updates:
Ah peeps, I haven’t done a life update in the longest time!! Where do I even start? Since my last Cocktail Hour I spent the weekend in Philly with Johnny and went to the Radnor Races, celebrated the inaugural start of summer on Long Beach Island for Memorial Day Weekend (and didn’t fall off of my bike after our yacht club opening party like I’ve done in years past… #winning), and spent a weekend in NYC, exploring the Dutch Flower Line and seeing Sam Hunt + Luke Bryan live at MetLife!
I’ve been really focusing on gearing up for June and starting it out in on a high note, because it’s going to be a whirlwind. Travel-wise, in the next week I’ll be in Philly, Nantucket, NYC, my hometown of Fair Haven (we sold our house!), and then Long Beach Island. Then I am going to celebrate my birthday by having a long weekend in Portsmouth, Maine with Johnny (we are also going to visit Kennebunkport and Boston!) and then round out the month with a weekend trip to Chicago to see my first Cub’s game (I’m really going for the hot dogs & because it’s an excuse to wear my pink Cubs baseball cap… shhh)! Needless to say, in June I’m going to be the #queen of the weekend trip game and somehow fit in my birthday in there… (it’s on the 14th!!). I’m sorry, but summer is waaay too short to just stay sedentary, am I right?! I’m honestly a bit nervous it might be too much going going going, but it’s all fun things with people I love and enjoy being with so I’m not taking it for granted one bit (but talk to me in July when I want to sleep for three days straight lol).
Pit of the Week:
I’ve been struggling this month with finding time to blog, create content, answer emails, communicate with YOU peeps, and make I Believe in Pink a priority. I haven’t had the time because I’m doing so many truly fun things (so don’t let this come across as complaining), but lately I’ve had a few pits about doing simple things like opening my IBIP email inbox… ever get that feeling?! ?
Peak of the Week:
I came home yesterday to my apartment before heading to drinks and dinner with my co-workers for my birthday (we celebrated this week because I’ll be away all next week), and found that my roommates and co-worker/bestie had decorated and left me a Wegman’s cake (my FAVEE… there’s no sugar high like after eating Wegman’s cake frosting). I was so surprised and happy and just got all the feels, ya know? So lucky to be surrounded by such caring (and hysterical/smart/loyal/amazing/kick-ass) women who make up my best friends. 🙂
Wellness Tidbit of the Week:
I’ve been using this Soap and Glory Body Polish in the shower this past week and couldn’t recommend it more. Since we’re in self tanner season* (I use this St. Tropez mouse with this mitt about 2x a week), I needed a reliable scrub to use to exfoliate in between using St. Tropez. This one is gentle but gets the job done– I feel soft as ever after using it with a wash cloth to scrub any excess, spotty tanner! Plus it’s their “Original Pink” fragrance which you know I’m all about. It smells like strawberries and roses all at once. 🙂
*Clarification- self-tanner season is 365 days of the year.
Favorite Thing Seen on the Internet This Week:
Okay so this wasn’t technically on the internet, but I did see the movie The Kissing Booth this past weekend on Netflix and it was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long, long time. It’s a feel-good, cringe-worthy, scream-out-loud-at-the-TV romantic drama about two kids in high school with a forbidden romance. I promise you will thank me after you watch it. I recommended it on my Insta Story and I got so many DMs from other peeps who had seen it and are obsessed as well! DM me if you read about it in this post and then watch.
Best Deal of the Week:
Bauble Bar is having a blowout sale in which dozens of gorgeous earrings and necklaces are up to 70% off. Most of them around around $12/$14. My top picks are these big gold drop earrings and these white woven drop earrings.
IBIP Obsession of the Week:
This Capri Blue candle my roommates gave me as an early birthday gift. You know my love of Capri Blue candles is strong, and this one is my new top favorite. I hadn’t smelled it before they gave it to me, and the scent is called “ocean” and is composed of pineapple, coconut, and verbena. It’s like an oceanside tropical oasis in huge, flammable form.
Your Favorite Item Seen on IBIP This Week:
You loved these silver & gold scalloped sandals! They’re so perfect because you can wear gold or silver jewelry with them. I’ve been wearing them a lot recently and they’re so comfortable. You barely have to break them in!
