Cocktail of the Week:
I got drinks with my coworkers recently at Paladar, which is a Latin kitchen and rum bar that has multiple locations (like, Tysons, VA and Annapolis, MD) and had the featured monthly cocktail, which was the Clementine Mojito. It had white rum, Bacardi Tangerine, fresh clementines, mint, and lime. SO light and refreshing.
Life Updates:
Since I last shared a Cocktail Hour on here, I went to Richmond for the University of Richmond’s Ring Dance to celebrate my boyfriend’s little sister and my Little Little. Every year Richmond holds a huge ball at The Jefferson Hotel to celebrate the academic accomplishments of the junior Westhampton College students (Westhampton College is traditionally the women’s school within the University of Richmond). All of my best girlfriends went for the event as well and we had the best time celebrating the junior women at Richmond who we are luckily still so close with (they seriously were so gorgeous in their gowns I can’t even). I loved having an excuse to go to Richmond and act like I was 18 again. We all NEED those weekends, am I right?!
Since then, I’ve been prepping for a few big work trips and am going to hunker down in work for the next week– until heading to NYC on Friday to celebrate Johnny’s birthday, a delayed Valentine’s Day, and our three year anniversary!
Pit of the Week:
Right before I went to Richmond, I got my hair done and accidentally went way too blonde (like I either look like Tinkerbell or Cersei from Game of Thrones. ?) I have never not liked my hair before (I’m pretty low key about getting my hair cut or colored) but this was too too much and I had a pit in my stomach about it, ha! Turns out, a week and a half later and I am actually starting to love it and am totally embracing this new fairy-like look, ha. It’s funny how that works, isn’t it?!
Peak of the Week:
On last Friday night when I landed in Richmond, I unexpectedly got in later than I planned due to a few flight delays. So by the time I got to the hotel it was too late to meet up with Johnny’s family or my friends, so instead I just got a glass of wine from the hotel bar and brought it to my room, ate my peanut butter cups that I had impulsed-purchased at the airport, and watched the Bachelor in bed. ? Sometimes it’s the silliest, simplest moment that ends up being the best part of my week.
Wellness Tidbit of the Week:
I’ve been sitting at my desk at work with my heating pad for the past few weeks and really love how it both makes me warmer and soothes my back from my bad computer posture. I just have it lay flat against my desk chair and leave it there so I can turn it off and on whenever I want. This heating pad brand was recommended to me by a friend and it has lived up to her recommendation. It’s an added bit of comfort to my work day– I’d highly recommend trying it out or keeping the heating pad at home (which is probably the more normal thing to do). 🙂
Favorite Thing Seen on the Internet This Week:
I was recently introduced to Jetsetter.com and love perusing it when I’m feeling extra levels of wanderlust (as in like right now). This list on the best waterfront escapes is giving me all of the oasis vibes that I am craving right now.
Best Deal of the Week:
I just scored the coziest floral fleece sweatshirt (see the floral fleece pants pants as well) and a shimmery ruffle sweater both on sale. They’re warm and practical purchases for right now, but will transition so nicely into spring.
IBIP Obsession of the Week
These hot pink embellished heels. I wore them to Ring Dance and got so many compliments! They’re so fun to wear with pretty much any solid dress, navy, black, white, etc., or even with jeans and a simple blouse. They run true to size as well so they’re safe to order online!
Your Favorite Item Seen on IBIP This Week:
Turns out the item you have most loved from my site/social this week is the $49 mint sweater I’m featuring in this post, ha! I’m wearing the XS and it runs true to size. It also comes in such a gorgeous lavender color that I may have to get for spring…
