Welcome to Our Living Room!
Thank you for all of the love on our first apartment reveal yesterday, our dining area! It flows directly into our living room, so I figured that sharing this space now would be the next logical step!
Our most loved and used space in our apartment is our living room, so I knew that I wanted it to be a complete combination of both Johnny and me, since we would both be using the space all the time. Our first priority was comfort, and then personalizing it came as a close second since we wanted some aspects of it to be meaningful and reflect our favorite places and things.
Which brings me to all that you see here– a putting mat for Johnny to put, lots of coffee table books that feature Wrigley Field and breezy beachy décor, framed tickets from the Masters, US Open, and World Series, photos from Palm Beach, Capri, and Vero Beach, a painting of beautiful lake and library at the University of Richmond, framed maps of Barcelona and Prague (where Johnny and I studied abroad), and pictures I’ve taken from my favorite beaches in LBI, Positano, and the BVIs.
I’m looking up at the gallery wall as I type this (it faces my office area as well!) and I’m realizing that every item has some significance to us, and it’s almost 50% Johnny and 50% me. 😊 We hung the gallery wall by eyeballing the spaces (omg) and have Adnan to thank for sourcing the vintage postcards and photos on it that really tie it together (he’s a vintage and Ebay guru!). This will definitely call for a more in-depth blog post in the future, but our overall advice for a gallery wall would be to stick to a few key frame styles and a vague color scheme for the images… then watch it all come together!
As for the furniture, I fell in love with the ‘Chloe’ collection at Apt2B because of its sleek and simple design. The gold hardware is the type of gold that matches with everything and each piece is built in a very sturdy way. We went with the Chloe High Media Stand for our media console where our TV sits and it seriously could not fit any more perfectly in the room. I also really appreciate the piece because it provides two shelves and three drawers of storage, so we have throw blankets, candles, chargers, etc. hidden away in it.
I am actually so obsessed with Apt2B’s ‘Chloe’ furniture pieces that I bought the Chloe Console Table as well as two of the Chloe Side Tables for my office area, which you will see more of later on this week 😊. Incorporating the same style of furniture throughout the living room and my office really allowed for the rooms to flow and coordinate together.
And I just want to take a moment to gush about Apt2B’s white glove delivery service as well– I opted for that (it’s only $99 & SO worth it in my opinion) and was absolutely awed by how wonderful the service was! They had delivered, unpacked, put together, and thrown out the trash from all of the boxes before we even got to our apartment on move-in day (we had scheduled it with our building to have them do that). It was by far the best furniture delivery experience we had, and such a welcomed reprieve from all of the furniture unpacking and set up that we did ourselves!
Here’s a note from Adnan about the rest of the room as well–
‘The sectional sofa was a deal breaker for Johnny, and Lovesac delivered big time. After weeks of deliberation, I convinced Amy to buy her first non-white sofa. The blue chenille grounds the sea of white walls and furniture and is the perfect backdrop for pillows. The gallery wall above is my favorite moment in the apartment- it tells Amy and Johnny’s story by mixing their existing collections of art (and sports memorabilia) with thoughtful vintage finds sourced by me, like the print of Joan Harlow and her sheepdogs that is an homage to the Littleson’s beloved pup Liberty.’
He’s so right– going with a vintage blue sectional was the right move and did anchor the room in such an impactful way. The space has already brought us so much joy– from hosting a few friends over for drinks and snuggling up to binge watch The Crown… we’re so thankful for it! xx
