Life Lately Posts

My ‘Life Lately’ posts entail a life update, as well as my recent blog posts, purchases, and Amazon finds. Half real life, half shopping. Sounds like the ideal formula for my favorite type of blog post. 😊 I hope you enjoy them as much as I love putting them together for you!

6.14.20

Hi peeps!! I am writing this post the day before my birthday, so if you’re reading this on Sunday chances are that I’m indulging in either champagne or carbs right now (or both honestly lol).

I mentioned this in my last blog post, but I am enjoying a relaxed and low key birthday weekend on Long Beach Island. I haven’t spent three straight months here since I was a sophomore in college so it feels like such a treat to have this time.

I have been sleeping in but working hard all at once, which is my ideal version of a balanced lifestyle at the beach 😊. I even enjoyed a little sunset beach picnic this past week with my mom & sister, which was a much more low key version of my 25th birthday beach dinner last year!

In all honesty, I put a lot of pressure on myself right out of the gate when I first started working for myself at the end of April, and feel like I’m finally settling into this new role and enjoying it. June is probably the first month that I’ve been experiencing more of the benefits of working for myself, and I am unbelievably thankful that I’m happy with it so far.

My Christian life coach, Alexandra always jokes to me that entrepreneurship is like a crash course in figuring out your personality type and how you work best, and I couldn’t agree with that more. You have to learn (fast) just how to figure things out and get them done without the luxury or company of a team or corporation behind you. I’ve grown up and learned a lot about myself in the past month and a half (and year!) and can already tell that I’m a stronger person for it.

I learned how to trust God more and take big leaps of faith, how to navigate being a business owner in a time full of uncertainty, and how to better stand up for what I believe in. I’m incredibly thankful for these life lessons and am SO looking forward to what this year will bring… mainly involving growing my business, giving back more, living with a GUY 😊, & finding the joy in it all. 😊

I feel like I end every more personal blog post with this, but I am eternally grateful for my friends and family. I cannot emphasize the importance of surrounding yourself with supportive, smart, and loyal people who have their own dreams they’re working on, but are just excited about yours as you are. My friends are always my first to go to to bounce ideas off of and get feedback from, and my family is always helping me to figure out better ways to serve and help you all (if I had a nickel for every time Deb said “you need to make it easier for them to get the link to shop that!!” 😊).

Anyways, in hopes that I won’t be jinxing myself, I have to say that I am optimistically thinking that my 26th year is going to be a lot of FUN. I’m still at the point where I don’t have to take myself too seriously (idk if I ever will honestly 😊) and there are still so many dreams I am scheming up and working on. 😊 I don’t have to grow up just yet… do I?!

Thank you all, from the button of my heart, for sharing these experiences with me & being my go-to gals for everything. I wish I could have a champagne beach picnic with each one of you!! 😊😊
